Others would go so far as to label it &#8220;just plain stupid&#8221;. Williams used a stolen check to buy a used Plymouth Roadrunner, but three days later he told friends that he should have just killed the car owner instead of paying him, and vowed to steal back his stolen check. He and a friend returned to where they had purchased the car and shot the owner and his cousin execution style, then drove one man&#8217;s girlfriend to a field where Williams raped her, fatally shooting her four times during the act. His lawyers attempted to blame Williams&#8217; behavior on epilepsy, severe head injuries suffered during childhood, and mental illness resulting from fetal alcohol syndrome.
