There is a tunnel from the building to the incinerator about 300 yds or so away through which the dead were gurneyed so that no one could see how many were dying there. It was a geriatric center\u00a0<span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Bitstream Charter', serif; font-style: italic; line-height: 24.375px;\">in the 60\u2019s for a while\u00a0<\/span>(my mother worked as the receptionist there, and my rock band played a concert there for the patients when I was 13 years old), then went into disrepair, was full of graffiti and a site for yearly hallowe\u2019en haunted houses. There were many apparitions reported in the building.
