Today’s Dubious Yet Truly Morbid Fact!

The dubious distinction of the first fatal accident involving a jet airliner fell to a de Havilland Comet of Canadian Pacific Airlines which crashed during take off from Karachi, Pakistan on March 3, 1953, although the aircraft was on a positioning flight and there were no passengers on board.  Eleven crew members and de Havilland staff members were killed.
