Today’s Dedicated Yet Truly Morbid Fact!
On March 17, 1957, Philippine president Ramon Magsaysay was traveling from Cebu to Manila by plane, accompanied by several journalists and staffers. At about one-thirty A.M., the plane crashed and burned on a mountainside. Journalist Nestor Mata was sitting half-asleep near the president’s compartment and was knocked unconscious in the crash. He came to a few hours later on a steep, rocky hill, surrounded by burning wreckage. Mata was in agony, covered in second- and third-degree burns. He called out “Mr. President! Mr. President!” but got no answer. He then called out “Pabling! Pabling!” searching for his colleague Pablo Bautista, but again received no response. However, a farmer heard his cries and found him. Mata was carried eighteen miles in a hammock to a hospital. Upon arrival at the hospital, Mata enlisted the help of a nurse, dictating a press release to her that began with the terse line “President Magsaysay is dead.” Nestor Mata was the sole survivor of the crash, which killed 24 people. He later wrote a book about the experience called “One Came Back.” He is still alive today.

This is totally fake! I do not know where this “morbid” picture came from and whose corpse it is. But that is not Magsaysay’s.
One thing is certain. Google up any account concerning the retrieval of the remains of the passengers who died in the crash of Mt. Pinatubo, the presidential plane. And you will see there that the remains of President Magsaysay were charred beyond recognition and lumped like coal with the other dead bodies. The only way they identified it was thru a wristwatch. Here are few detailed accounts to prove that point:
