Have you heard about the Sully Cocktail? Two splashes of Grey Goose and a shot of water.
Incidentally, does anyone else out there get really annoyed when people call something quite within the realm of not only possibility but probability a “miracle”? When Sully landed his plane they immediately termed it the “Miracle on the Hudson”. So, God gets all the credit for the pilot and co-pilot’s skill at landing the plane on the water? I’d be quite annoyed if I were those guys – there goes God stealing the credit again. But who put those geese in front of the plane in the first place, hmmmm? How come God doesn’t get blamed for that? Too bad Michael Phelps doesn’t have God’s PR agent – he could shoot up in front of the press and all anyone would say is how miraculous his abs are.
Have you also noticed how Sully is now the “go_to” guy in all matters involving aviation? I didn’t get to watch the CBS news the last couple nights, but I was willing to bet money that they would be talking with him about the plane crash this week in Buffalo.
I really will be disappointed in him if he lets it all go to his head.
Note that when Katie Couric asked him if he prayed during the crisis, he said something to the effect of “I assume someone in the back of the plane was doing that. I was too busy trying to fly the plane.” That shut Katie up real quick on the miracle track.
They rarely mention that Captain Sully is also a certified glider pilot.
I’m sure that helped a lot while dead-sticking into the Hudson!
Still, it was one beautiful piece of piloting!!!
Yeah – I though miracles were supped to be impossible things: making the blind see, water into wine an’ all that crap. A pilot landing an aeroplane is hardly in that category is it??
