Today’s Imitative Yet Truly Morbid Fact!
In September 2014, Eric Stayton, 50, hosted a birthday party at his Florida home for his 39-year-old sister, Renee Chaires, and her 23-year-old daughter. Chaires drank three beers and then decided to reenact a scene from the 1993 Western movie “Tombstone.” In the movie, Michael Biehn as Johnny Ringo and Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday face off in a crowded bar, and Biehn as Ringo twirls his six-shooter in the air. Stayton twirled his own loaded gun. His brother-in-law objected on safety grounds, but Renee Chaires begged him to repeat the stunt so her daughter could guess which Val Kilmer movie he was imitating.
Stayton obliged, but as he returned the gun to its holster he dropped it and as it hit the floor it discharged, striking Chaires in the neck and killing her. Stayton is now being charged with manslaughter. He has told deputies that he’s been twirling guns for ten years with no problem.

Now, does this look like a man who would have trouble twirling a gun? I didn’t think so.
