Roosevelt Island (New York City, New York)

There are lots of interesting things on Roosevelt Island – especially the ruins of an old castle-like Smallpox Hospital (Renwick Hospital), a bacteriology laboratory, and an asylum. (Thanks to Kathleen for the suggestion.)
