Today’s Cagey Yet Truly Morbid Fact!
The torture device known as the Wooden Cage produced two main results:
- It limited the prisoners’ movements, while strongly constraining their head, for they were hung upright inside a cage with a cone-shaped top;
- Even if the rectangular opening was wide enough to allow the victim’s body to enter, because of the great height there was no chance for the victim to jump out of the cage.
The size of the opening on the bottom of the cage was such that the victim’s body could possibly fall through, thus increasing his fear of falling down.
The only disadvantage (from the point of view of the torturer!), was that the victim could not be exposed to the insults of passer-bys.

Ghastly! – Noma Edition
When I saw this ghastly photo that David posted I said, “What is wrong with her? Cancer? Disease? Injury?”
It seems that Noma had slipped my mind. I’m not sure how because it’s frighteningly memorable. It’s simply one of the most atrocious maladies I’ve ever laid my eyes upon. So of course I have to share it again with you all. I’d say “brace yourselves” but if you’ve survived the girl above, you won’t have any issues surviving the other images on this page.
